How are we
Hornelen Via Ferrata is a company founded in the spring of 2023, but the seed was sown long before this. The idea was conceived several years earlier and panted in the local community, with a desire to create a destination around the iconic Hornelen. Now this is finally becoming reality, with help from local tourism oeprators, investors and the municipality. We believe that Nordfjord is some of the most varied and beautiful that Norway has to offer, and that Hornelen is unique also here. Our wish is for the activities to contribute to a vibrant local community which uses the beautiful nature we surround ourselves with.
As local inhabitants and a national tour operator, sustainability is a priority, especially concerning preserving the nature and our fjord. We have built the route and trail to make as little impact as possible, both physically and visually. The Leave No Trace principals are important to us, and all our guests are obligated to follow these on tour with us. This is to protect the experience for future generations.
The climbing sport is growing fast in recent years, and boudlering has almost become a national sport. We see that more and more people are taking the step from indoor to outdoor climbing, and we believe even more people want to make this transition! Via Ferrata is a safe way to experience the adrenaline, accomplisment and the airy feeling of outdoor climbing. We hope and beleive that a trip up Hornelen Via Ferrata will contribute to more people getting bitten by the climbing bug and hereby opening doors into the great climbing environment we have in Norway.
