Eagle Hill – An introduction to Via Ferrata
Eagle’s Side is our shortest trip, and is an introduction wall with around 80 meters of cable. You get to test and feel how the equipment works, tried some climbing and challenged gravity. Here you are enjoying nice climbing and nature, before taking the returnpath back. This path is quite the adventure as well, following a steep deer path down to the fjord again. Perfect if you are tryhing Via Ferrata for the first time, and want to test the shape and exposure before commencing on more adventures further up on Hornelen. If you have booked the Wall of Witches, you will also get to climb the Eagle’s Side.
Afterwards, you follow the returnpath back basecamp. This path is an adventure in itself, following a steep deer path down to the fjord. This trip takes about 3 hours from start to finish. A perfect timeframe to shake loose on your way to or from Bremanger!

Short travelled joy
Our intro wall The Eagle’s Side offers many of the aspects that our other routes also have, only simpler. You get vertical and horizontal climbing, a board path, rest areas and great views. The age limit here is also lower, as we think this is also a good activity for children under 12. Early practice makes the Viking!
You spend about 45 minutes on the approach, before climbing for 30 minutes, and the return trip takes about 45 minutes. For thurrow readers, you can see that there is more walking than climbing, and this is correct. This is more of a hike, with elements of Via Ferrata climbing.
